Royal Purple, Lilac & Gold

Purple was once the rarest of dyes, reserved for royal robes and the finest courtly silks. Zarposh Atelier 03 honours that legacy in two tones of the same regal colour: a deep royal purple dupatta and a soft lilac shirt, both printed in gold by hand under the eye of Samina Butt.

The lilac shirt is scattered with fine gold buti, set on a delicate trellis that catches the light with every movement. Against it, the royal purple dupatta is pure ceremony: a gold jaal across its length, a wide gilded border and a grand pallu of paisleys at each end. Gentle on one side and majestic on the other, the two are made to be worn as one.

The Zarposh Collection

Zarposh is Kalamkaari's expression of luxury through gold. Inspired by the richness of South Asian heritage textiles, each design pairs gold detailing with intricate motifs and deep, jewel-toned colour, created to feel grand on the day and timeless for years after.

The Shirt

A soft lilac raw silk ground hand block printed with fine gold buti on a delicate trellis. Quiet and luminous, it lets the gold shimmer gently rather than dominate.

The Dupatta

Royal purple raw silk printed with a gold jaal along its length, framed by a wide gilded border and finished with a grand pallu of paisleys. It is the regal statement of the ensemble and drapes with real presence.

The Trouser

A plain lilac raw silk trouser completes the set, a clean foundation that lets the gold detailing of the shirt and dupatta lead.

Styling

Purple and gold are made for celebration. Pair Atelier 03 with antique gold jhumkas, a fine gold necklace and embellished khussas, and a fresh gajra for a classic festive finish. Let the dupatta fall from one shoulder so its paisley pallu is seen, or drape it across both shoulders for weddings and formal evenings.

Craftsmanship & Print Variation

Every Kalamkaari piece is printed by hand, block by block. Slight variations in placement, depth of colour and texture are the signature of the artisan's hand, and make each piece entirely its own.

Caring for Your Raw Silk

Hand block printed raw silk is a living textile. Treated gently, it will keep its texture and the clarity of every impression for years to come.

• Dry clean only is recommended, to protect both the raw silk and the hand-printed colours.
• If hand washing is unavoidable, use cold water and a mild, pH-neutral silk detergent. Wash separately and do not soak.
• Never wring or twist. Press out water gently, roll in a clean towel and dry flat in the shade.
• Keep away from direct sunlight, which can fade natural block print colours.
• Iron on the reverse at a low silk setting, with a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric. Never iron directly onto the gold print.
• Apply perfume and deodorant before dressing, never directly onto the fabric.
• Store folded in a muslin or cotton cloth, never in plastic, in a cool, dry place. Refold occasionally along new lines so creases do not set.
